Peridot (Green Tea)

“Peridot”, named after the precious gem, is a green tea (Xihu Longjing) picked and produced by hand in Longjing Village near Hangzhou in Zhejiang Province, China. Produced by hand and wok-roasted, this is the most well-known of green teas in China, with its fame escalating to supreme heights when the famous Qing emperor Qian Long kept it for his royal use in the 17th century. The taste of green tea is heavily reliant on the quality of the original leaves, which then is correlated with the growing environment, horticulture and tea-making mastery, and the Xihu area in Hangzhou is most renowned for green tea production.
